Visit Camp Gordon Johnston WW II Museum to learn about how troops trained on the beaches of Franklin County for the D-Day Invasion of Normandy. The Carrabelle History Museum shares the area’s long-standing history and culture through Native American artifacts, regional relics and an endless supply of fascinating stories.

Don’t forget to check out Carrabelle’s famous Crooked River Lighthouse and Museum, originally built in 1895. This historical lighthouse served as a guiding light for passing ships and fisherman for nearly a century. Today the decommissioned lighthouse and keepers’ house museum stand on the mainland, where the light was originally built. Nestled in a north Florida forest habitat and surrounded by a public park, the lighthouse still beams nightly to the delight of visitors. The Keeper’s House serves as a gift shop and museum, where visitors can observe relics such as antique clocks, a barometer, a glass fire grenade, pages from the keeper’s watch book, currency and much more.
