Blues and BBQ under the Full Moon at Crooked River Lighthouse

The Crooked River Lighthouse will be hosting a special Blues & BBQ Full Moon event on Tuesday, December 26 from 6-8 pm in Carrabelle, FL. This special outdoor event will feature live Blues music, a glowing bonfire at the fire pit, and a delicious BBQ meal. Visitors can enjoy this opportunity to see the gorgeous natural surroundings of the St. George Sound and Carrabelle Beach under the evening sky. Live music will be provided by the musical duo, “Blues Meets Girl”.

Powerful musical duo, Blues Meets Girl, is a collaboration of British Blues veteran Mr. Downchild and Texas born singer/songwriter Kasimira. These two bold artists weave their separate influences and experiences together to create down-home, smokin’, sexy blues music at its best. Listeners can feel and relate to the soulful and passionate songs they write for and about each other, as well as their unique renditions of the classics by Muddy Waters, Etta James, Big Mama Thorton, Elmore James and Sonny Boy Williams. Blues Meets Girl is bonafide Blues thru and thru.

Visitors can also browse the Keeper’s House Museum after hours and see the lighthouse’s original, historic Fresnel lens manufactured in France in 1894. The gift shop will be open for  shopping. Guests may enjoy the glowing bonfire in the park (weather permitting). Bring a chair and enjoy the evening.

Tickets are $17 if purchased by December 18 or $20 after (if available) and include live music, bonfire, a delicious BBQ plate, and museum access. (Climbs are not included in this price.) Tickets are available in the gift shop or online.

At the Full Moon event, evening climbs are also available for those brave souls who are bold enough to venture to the top of the tallest Forgotten Coast lighthouse. Climbers will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the bay. Evening climbs cost $10. All climbers must be at least 44 inches tall. There will be a time limit for viewing from the top. Timed tower climb tickets are required for those who wish to climb the lighthouse tower during this event. Tickets are available online or by dropping by our gift shop. Advance purchase is strongly suggested as slots may sell out.
