First Friday Art Event at Rio Carrabelle Gallery

Rio Carrabelle Gallery is hosting another one of their popular First Friday art events on Friday, October 6th from 5:00-8:00 pm at Rio Carrabelle Gallery in downtown Carrabelle. As part of this month’s First Friday, Rio will be celebrating the opening for a new exhibit featuring talented artist, Cal Allen. Guests can also browse new artwork recently put on display by Roger Leonard, Joe Kotzman, William Owen, Pat Moore, Barb Ryan, and Bo May. Guests can enjoy the gorgeous paintings and art of these gifted, local artists while enjoying the sounds of some fabulous, live music along with lively conversation in a laid-back, fun atmosphere.

Cal Allen has expressed his southern heritage through his art for over 60 years. His attention to the details of the coast and his love of nature co-mingle to produce his naturalistic approach. From the lighthouses of North Carolina’s outer banks, the marshes of coastal Georgia, and the mudflats of Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast comes the inspiration for much of Cal’s work. Cal is proficient in oils and watercolors but prefers working in egg tempera.

Rio Carrabelle Art Gallery is located at 102 St. James Avenue (US Hwy 98), Carrabelle, Florida and is open Thursdays thru Saturdays 10 am – 3 pm.
